About Me
I am dedicated to improving the health of the patients and communities that I serve, by providing service excellence through high quality education, research, and practice improvement. I coordinate and guide clinical practice using evidence-based research while ensuring care delivery is safe and cost-effective. I have served as an advocate and role model for nursing staff and provide expert consultation to various other disciplines. I am passionate about nursing certification and professional development and work to inspire all nurses to achieve the highest standards.
My philosophy of teaching is that all students are unique and deserve individualized educational plans that are developed to assess and overcome learning barriers. My role as an Assistant Professor is to guide nursing students to develop their own nursing philosophy that is evidenced-based and maintains patient-centered care. I bring consistency, diligence, and warmth with my teaching style to provide students the optimal environment for growth.
When I am not teaching or working to improve clinical practice I am spending my time with my husband, teenage daughter and our Japanese Akita.
